Meditek Equipment Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 18 November 1977
and is a fully Malaysian-owned company with total equity held by
Bumiputra interests.
Since its establishment, Meditek has developed extensive experience
across the healthcare industry, with its primary focus on the procurement
and installation of medical equipment as well as healthcare project
planning and consultancy.
The company’s capabilities extend beyond equipment supply to include hospital management, medical planning, equipment planning, healthcare facility implementation and consultancy services.

Milestones in Our History
1977
Establishment
Meditek Equipment Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 18 November 1977. During the 1970s, Meditek pioneered the introduction of automated blood chemistry machines to Malaysia’s private healthcare sector. The Hycel computerized auto analyser helped reduce the cost of blood tests from RM15 to RM5 at the time.
1980s
Hospital Development
Meditek played a significant role in the planning and development of Subang Jaya Medical Centre, contributing to concept development, equipment planning, manpower planning, commissioning and hospital management.
1990s
Hospital Planning
Meditek was appointed consultant medical equipment planner and hospital planner for Kepala Batas Hospital and Pekan Hospital, each with a capacity of 108 beds.
2000s
Healthcare Consultancy
The company continued its involvement in major healthcare projects, including Gua Musang Hospital and Alor Gajah Hospital, while also undertaking healthcare-related studies and consultancy assignments for the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Dato’ Dr. Amir Abbas
Managing Director
Dato’ Dr. Amir Abbas brings extensive experience in medicine, healthcare planning and medical education.
He served as Founder and Head of the Rural Health Research Department at the Institute of Medical Research and was the Foundation Dean of the Medical Faculty at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
He was also involved in the planning and establishment of various public-sector hospitals in Malaysia and played a key role in setting up Subang Jaya Medical Centre.
Arliza Amir Abbas
Chief Executive Officer
Arliza Amir Abbas holds a Master of Medical Physics and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics from the University of Malaya.
She has served as Radiation Protection Officer and consultant equipment planner for hospital development projects and currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
